  • Understand basic platelet physiology.
  • Recognize the normal physiologic changes of pregnancy, in particular those related to platelets.
  • Discuss etiologies of thrombocytopenia, both pregnancy-related and non-pregnancy related.
  • Review treatment options for thrombocytopenia in pregnancy.

Program description:

In this session, the speaker will discuss the pathophysiology of pregnancy and normal changes related to platelets. Etiologies of thrombocytopenia, both pregnancy-related and non-pregnancy related, will be reviewed. And finally treatment options will be discussed.
