CARA

The Clinician Abortion & Reproductive Health Access (CARA) Taskforce is an informal coalition of clinician organizations with a shared goal of protecting and expanding access to reproductive health care services, including abortion, across the United States through state advocacy. We advance this goal through amplification of organizational advocacy efforts, joint advocacy initiatives, connecting state advocates, and information and resource sharing.

The coalition is guided by our shared values:

· Individuals have the right to access the full spectrum of reproductive health care services, including abortion care.

· Reproductive health care decisions are best made by the individual with guidance and support from their health care provider.

· We oppose legislation and policies that limit, prohibit, or criminalize reproductive health care services, including abortion.

· We ground our work in promoting optimal health outcomes for individuals and communities most impacted by restrictions and bans on reproductive health care services, including people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, those living in rural or medically underserved communities, and people with limited economic resources.

· We aim to be inclusive of all individuals that desire or experience pregnancy, including transgender and gender-diverse individuals.
